Anarchy Reigns delayed once again
Sega have pushed back the furious looking third person shooter – Anarchy Reigns to next year prompting anger from the developers. The official reason from Sega is that the delay is due to a re-evaluation. However, Platinum games are less than impressed and lead designer for Anarchy Reigns took to twitter to vent frustrations.
Atsushi Inaba tweeted: “First of all, we are done with all international versions of Anarchy Reigns. The delay is not due to further development on the game. Also, even though the release dates will be different, the content of both the Japanese and Western versions will be 100% the same. There’s some concern that this will push back the Japanese release date. It will not. The game will be released in Japan on July 5, 2012. Finally, I want to sincerely apologize to all the fans worldwide for all the confusion this situation has caused. Even though we are the game’s developers, we can only do so much about this…”
This isn’t the first time Anarchy Reigns has been delayed as it suffered a put back in May. Platinum Games weren’t too happy with this either and even though the game is finished and is due for release in Japan in a matter of weeks, a western release is still some time away with only the vague “Q1 2013” date pencilled in. It seems a bit strange why Sega are delaying the game as all versions will be the same.
