The Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword HD Coming To Switch In July
Nintendo have announced the long rumoured The Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword HD is coming to the Nintendo Switch on 16th July. As well as the game, they are also releasing a pair of lovely looking Joy-Con. This forms part of the series’ 35th anniversary.
Aside from the expected visual improvements, The Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword HD still features motion controls, with the Joy-Con acting as your sword and shield. For the traditional button lovers, you’ll be happy to note that the team have created a way for the game to be played in a more traditional way, although the sword will be mapped to the right stick, so it will be interesting to how the game will cope with this and camera controls.
If this announcement seems familiar, it’s because it is. As part of Zelda’s 25th anniversary, the big N released Skyward Sword on the Wii, with a limited edition controller.
Speaking of which, here are some glamour shots of those new Joy-Con. They are based around the Master Sword and Hylian Shield designs and look gorgeous.
Nintendo have yet to formally recognise the series’ 35th Anniversary. With Breath Of The Wild 2 in development, don’t expect anything on the scale of Mario’s birthday until later in the year. Poor Link.
The Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword HD launches for the Nintendo Switch on 16th July – two days after the series’ 34th anniversary in the USA (14th July 1987).
