Biomutant Gets A New Trailer
It’s only a few months away, but for those who’ve been following Biomutant since it’s original announcement back in 2017, it’s been a tough wait. However, today not only do we have a tasty combat trailer to get stuck into but preorders are finally open. The game itself is an open-world, post-apocalyptic RPG, with a unique creatures who know various martial arts. The main plot of the game is to investigate a plague that has ravaged the Tree-of-Life and decide how you want the world to change because of it.
There’s a lot of choice when it comes to the editions with your standard, Atomic & Collector’s Editions, each with a varying degree of expense, however if you do preorder the game you’ll get first access to The Mercenary DLC. This character teased at the end of the above trailer has dual-wield as and is geared up with a classic Katana and the shorter Wakizashi blades. This will be available at a cost post-launch. Biomutant is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on 25th May 2021.
Hack and Slash RWBY: Grimm Eclipse – Definitive Edition Comes To Switch
RWBY: Grimm Eclipse – Definitive Edition, based on hit anime series, is coming to the Nintendo Switch on 13th May after only being playable on PC & PS4. The game sees you playing as RWBY characters, traversing Remnant in new storylines. New to the game are an exclusive two-player couch co-op play as well as four-player online co-op, eight all-new outfits and a host of extras.
We’re not overly familiar with the anime but we’ve been told that the game’s storyline is fully canon and includes the full voiceover from the cast of the show and an original score from RWBY’s composer, which should excite fans of the series. From our perspective, the game looks like a great hack and slash. The visuals are vibrant and pop off the screen and combat is fluid and previous versions have reviewed really highly. We’ll definitely give this a go when it launches for Switch on 13th May.
Square Enix Shadow Drops Final Fantasy VIII Remastered for iOS & Android
Smartphone gamers are in for a treat as Square have released the divisive Final Fantasy VIII Remastered today and until the 4th April you can pick it up for the sum of £16.99 (usually £19.99). The game has a number of features to help you out including Battle Assist for maxing out HP & ATB. No Encounters takes away enemy encounter options, and you can boost the game’s speed by three times.
Sega’s Humankind Delayed Until August
Sega & Amplitude studios have advised that their historical strategy game Humankind has been pushed back until the 17th August in order to work on working to perfect Accessibility, Pacing, Balancing, Diplomacy, and AI. We must admit, we’re taken back by the developer’s honesty in what they are working on. Usually we only hear “more time is needed to refine the game”.
Humankind is a historical strategy game where the entire narrative of humankind can be rewritten by the player. Culture, history, and your own values are all mixed together to allow you to create a unique civilisation that changes the direction of history. With such an ambitious project it sounds like more time in the oven is needed. Hopefully it’ll all pay off when Humankind releases on Steam and the Epic Store on 17th August.
Sneak Through The Wild West With El Hijo
El Hijo – A Wild West Tale is a game created by Handy Games and published by THQ Nordic. It’s a non-violent game where you have to sneak El Hijo past various outlaws and no-gooders in order to reunited him with his mother.
As El Hijo explores dark monasteries, deserts, and frontier towns in a spaghetti-western world, he has to solve tricky puzzles and distract bandits. To do this he’s armed with childish weapons used to distract and divert the fiends. This looks to be a great little stealth title and what’s better is that El Hijo – A Wild West Talelaunches today on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
