Battle Royale games are all the rage these days. Call of Duty has one, Battlefield will have one, heck even Worms has jumped onto the bandwagon, but today a new challenger approaches. Naraka: Bladepoint has launched on Steam and it brings with it a slight twist on the genre we know and love.

Naraka: Bladepoint is a 60 player battle royale game created by 24 Entertainment and instead of focusing on guns like the aforementioned games, Naraka puts you in a fictionalised Chinese inspired past and utilises parkour and melee weapons to allow players to roam around the battle arena with unrestricted movements. Of course if you still want to sit high up in the building and snipe people that’s fine too, but with the focus being on fluid combat it would be a shame to camp out all the time.

Here’s the launch trailer:

During the last few months, there have been various beta tests and even if you took part in them and learned the maps inside and out, you’ll be pleasently surprised that there have been a few improvements since you last stepped foot in the arena.

There are a few editions of the game to chose from, each with their own set of perks:

  • Standard Edition: $19.99/ £17.99
  • Deluxe Edition: $34.99/ £30.99
  • Asura Streamer Themed Edition:  $34.99/ £30.99
  • Ultimate Edition: $49.99/ £45.99

Naraka: Bladepoint is out now on Steam.
