Gamescom 2021: Halo Infinite & Multiplayer Info

As part of Opening Night Live at gamescom 2021, we were treated to a look at Microsoft’s Halo Infinite Multiplayer Season 1 as well as a release date for both the campaign and the free to play multiplayer. We also had look at how Microsoft are celebrating the 20th year of the series. Buckle up Spartans, there’s a lot to go through with this one.

Let’s start with the Halo Infinite Multiplayer. Above is the Season 1 cinematic trailer showcasing Commander Agryna as she sets about recruiting new Spartans to the resistance in a bit to take back the power from Atriox and the Banished. Details are a being kept under wraps but we do know that Halo Infinite Multiplayer will be a separate, free to play, entity from the main campaign.

There were no new details on the main single player Halo Infinite however it was announced that both and the standalone game and its multiplayer will release for Xbox Series X|S, Game Pass, and Xbox One consoles on 8th December 2021, so there’s not long left before we can jump into the biggest, most open world Halo yet.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Halo there is a brand new Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 with a style inspired by the series’s hero, Master Chief. A 20th anniversary Xbox Series X console will also be released. This is more of a contemporary look representing the series, with a bespeckled console finished in greys and gold etching. Both the controller and the console complement each other and will certainly be attention grabbing. Make some space on your desk/under the TV when they both release on 15th November.

To complete the package, Microsoft have teamed up with Seagate to produce an external hard drive, again based upon Master Chief. Hopefully the chip shortages and pesky scalpers will not pinch all of the stock. We’ve included some glamour shots to help whet your appetite and to help pass the time. Oof.
