Dying Light 2 Patch Update Starts Rolling Out
Techland have announced that patches for zombie free runner Dying Light 2 have started rolling out. Improvements to gameplay options across all console versions are slowly being made available, with the PlayStation family of consoles taking priority. Along with this, all versions of the game have seen a number of hot-fixes implemented in patch 1.2.
First up, let’s cover the fixes, and as there are a fair few, I’m not going to list them all. Click here to be taken to the Dying Light 2 site with all the features. This is rolling out first on PC, with console improvements taking effect in the next couple of days. The key points to take away are:
- All known cases with “Deathloops” eliminated.
- Fixed blocks in multiple quests – Into The Dark, Assassination, Sophie in The Raid Quest, Hubert in The Only Way Out, Veronika, Nightrunners, The Lost Light, Double Time.
- Stability issues fixed: crashes or black screens in certain situations (co-op)
- Level 4 of the chase is now more difficult.
- Howler’s senses range increased.
- Survivor Sense now works correctly and can be triggered without any cooldowns after getting hit or performing specific parkour actions
- Improvements to the Options Menu Information Architecture incl. a dedicated Accessibility Tab
- Fixed an issue where the opponent does not react correctly to other players and does not change behaviour that might lead to several glitches during co-op play.
- Banshees and Chargers are now more easily spotted in the Infected hordes during the night.
For the consoles, they will also see stability improvements to the game as well as adding in new gameplay modes.
The biggest update to Dying Light 2 comes to the PlayStation 5 & Xbox Series X where you can now select three different modes:
- Performance mode now gets you 60 FPS in Full HD resolution
- Balanced mode targets 60 FPS in QHD resolution
- High-Resolution mode offers 30 FPS in 4K
PlayStation 4 Pro players will also see an improved 30 FPS cap to the current settings.
Xbox Series S or Xbox One consoles will get:
- Performance mode offering a stable 30 FPS in full HD resolution
- High-resolution mode targets 30 FPS in Quad HD resolution (Series S & Xbox One X)
It’s nice to see Techland working hard to make the user experience better, and with a more stable frame rate, it’ll certainly show take the smooth free-running gameplay to a new level.
