Dune Spice Wars: Air And Sand Update Out Today
Dune: Spice Wars was released earlier in the year and developers Shiro Games have constantly been providing updates for players looking to harvest precious Spice on planet Arrakis. Today sees the launch of the Air & Sand update to the 4X strategy sim.
Set in Frank Herbert’s iconic Dune universe, Spice Wars sees players head up a faction that has to battle for control over the harsh desert planet of Arrakis, whilst mining for Spice – one of the richest and most sought-after substances in the known universe. Not only do players have to fend off others, but players also have to gather intel, garner political authority, and make plans within plans within plans.
In the latest update, flying units have been added to give a new layer of strategy to the battlefield. The aerial machines include ships and frigates that are capable of traversing the map without fear of sandworms.
Allowing for these new tactics to be used, does mean that the game has been balanced accordingly. Quests have been updated, the UI and multiplayer chat system improved, and new village features and Sietches have been added.
Finally, if that wasn’t enough for you Dune: Spice Wars also sees its release on Xbox Game Pass for PC today.
Dune: Spice Wars is out now for Steam and PC Game Pass.
