Capcom announces Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster will get a physical release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The re-remaster of the hit 2006 zombie game is a 4K, 60FPS upgrade on the last generation remaster and is set to bring Frank West’s first story to modern consoles and PC this September with boxed copies rolling out later.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is set to release digitally on 19 September, with a physical release scheduled for 8th November 2024. Disc collectors will be happy to hear that this is a worldwide release so players should have no problems adding this to their shelves. However, Capcom is offering preorder bonuses for the digital version in the form of three costumes and mall background music tracks. There is also a Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes 17 costumes for Frank West and 17 BGM tracks that can be played throughout the shopping mall.

Dead Rising tells the story of photojournalist Frank West who becomes trapped in a zombie infested shopping mall in the town of Willamette, Colorado. The third-person adventure sees Frank traversing through the mall to help uncover the mystery behind the outbreak. Frank utilises and creates weapons found throughout the shopping centre to stop the oncoming horde, along with saving the survivors who’ve been scattered around the building. Players have three days to find out what’s going on before they are rescued.

The remastered version includes reworked 4K visuals, 60FPS gameplay and a host of quality of life improvements. The primary one is the ability to complete certain actions while talking on the transceiver and uninterrupted calls, even when being attacked. This allows players the ability to multitask when under attack. Capcom will also be building on Frank’s photographic skills by including new photo filters. These include Black and White, Sepia, Vintage and Pixel Art filters, with more to be uncovered throughout the game.

With the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster some collectors might find this bittersweet as it comes a few months after the game’s digital release. Coupled with the lack of preorder bonuses, we can see why some might be disappointed with Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster‘s physical treatment. Still, the fact that Capcom is putting effort into a disc version of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, shows that they still want to show off a physical product.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster will be released on 19 September 2024 for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The PS5 and Xbox Series X physical editions will release on 8 November 2024.
