2D Action Adventure Bloodless Jumps To Nintendo Switch
After releasing on Steam earlier in 2024, 3D Realms and Point N’ Sheep are bringing the stylistic 2D action adventure game Bloodless to Nintendo Switch. The game incorporates the styles of 1990s beat-em-ups like Streets of Rage with tough enemies to provide a Dark Souls-esq system that relies on leveling up skills and approaching each enemy methodically.
Bloodless is set in Feudal Japan, telling the story of Tomoe, a former Ronin who is trying to live a life of peace. Unfortunately for her, the Shogun Akechi and his minions have other plans and set out on a path of violence, forcing Tomoe back into action. The former Ronin takes her vows seriously and even under threat, refuses to draw her blade. When the game is released on 10 October, players must try to disarm Akechi’s forces and pummel them into submission by only using Tomoe’s fists.
As players traverse the pixel art world of Bakugawa they’ll gradually uncover a deep and emotional story that tells of Tomoe’s resistance against the Shogun and the reasons for giving up her blade. Going hand in hand with the story is the combat skill tree which can be upgraded throughout the game. This gives Tomoe additional powers that will help quell the onslaught of Akechi. These include a devastating dash attack that knocks enemies out for the count and the ability to deflect projectiles.
While the game is making its way to Nintendo Switch, PC players can pick up Bloodless on Steam right now. A demo is available so if you like the look of the world of Bakugawa you can always try before you buy.
Bloodless will be available on Nintendo Switch from 10 October. The game is available on PC via Steam.
