To show off one of the new features of the Switch 2, Nintendo has created a new IP in the form of Drag x Drive. This is a 3V3 wheelchair basketball title that’s been designed around the Joy Con 2 mouse controllers.

Taking place in a futuristic warehouse, Drag x Drive has teams of three competing to score as many baskets in an allotted time as possible. Nintendo has developed the digital-only title around the use of mouse controls and is expected to release it during summer 2025.

There’s no doubt that Nintendo has designed Drag x Drive to show off the mouse controls in Switch 2, much like how Arms was developed to showcase the original Switch Joy Con. Players hold each Joy-Con 2 in the mouse position and swipe both to go forward or swipe one to pivot.

Outside of the initial overview of the 3v3 action, Nintendo didn’t go into a lot of detail regarding its latest sports title. Even the video (embedded above) doesn’t give too much away, except that players can use the lip of the bowl to grind around the court.

It remains to be seen how Drag x Drive will shape up in the coming months. At the moment, some players are questioning the amount of effort put into the game as it lacks the colour and vibrancy of Nintendo’s other multiplayer titles like Arms and Splatoon. Still, expect more information when the focus moves away from Mario Kart World.
