New Hyrule Warriors Game is Coming to Switch 2 in 2025

Nintendo and Koei Tecmo are once again teaming up to bring a new entry into the Hyrule Warriors franchise. Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment is a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive that’s due for release in ‘Winter 2025’.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment tells the story of the Imprissoning War, a period of Hyrule’s past explored in Tears of the Kingdom. Players will get the chance to play as King Rauru, Princess Zelda and other champions as they battle against Gannondorf’s raging armies in a game that will be considered canon to the Legend of Zelda timeline.

With Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment set for release later in the year, Nintendo didn’t go into too much detail with the game. However, those who played Tears of the Kingdom will have some clues to the game’s plot. What players can expect, though, is the usual 1vs1000 gameplay that the Warriors franchise is known for.
