For fans of fighting, impossibly ridiculous costumes and moves that wouldn’t really exist, it’s today been announced that the development for the latest rendition of SoulCalibur has been completed. SoulCalibur V, which will be available on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will also feature an apperance from a game that takes place in the past and future at the same time.

That’s right, the guest character in SoulCalibur V is Ezio Auditore de Firenze from Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. Not only this, but the title is set in a new era, 17 years on from where the last game ended and with a plethora of characters to play as.

In addition to the usual retail release there will also be a Collector’s Edition available, which will contain a specially designed ‘book’ box, the Collector’s Edition will include a high quality art book, a CD containing a selection of music spanning the history of SOULCALIBUR, the making-of videos, a DLC card for the Black Knight and White Knight armour sets, plus original artwork and letter on reproduction parchment paper signed by the team at Project Soul.

Fans who pre-order either edition of the game from participating retailers will receive a code to unlock Dampierre as a playable character as soon as they fire up the game.

SoulCalibur V will be available in the UK on the 3rd February 2012.
