4-player co-op horror, Lurch, spawns on Steam soon
Gather the whole gang, and don’t turn off the lights, because Bartic Studios are launching survival horror, Lurch, on Steam in just 6 days! After struggling to find a horror experience to satisfy their dark desires, the Brisbane based two-person studio decided to summon up their own game, and two and a half years later, Lurch shudders onto the scene.
Promising something very different from your dad’s solo survival horror experience, Lurch offers 4-player co-op gameplay to bring you and your best buds together. That’s right – ignore Freddie suggesting you ‘split up, gang’ – you’ll need to work as a team to overcome puzzles and survive a haunted house filled with stalking demons. Select your character and play your part in escaping the house – you’ll have understand your role and in the team and think quickly if you’re to stand any chance at coming out alive.
Sporting spooky visuals in Unreal Engine 5, Lurch has more than just jump scares under the hood… though it has plenty of those too! Utilising adaptive AI, the demons will learn from your actions and do their best to corner you no matter how you play. This will change your experience depending on your strategy, offering different outcomes and the potential for plenty of replay value as well. If there’s one thing I want a horror experience to be, it’s ‘unpredictable’, and I’m keen to see just how dynamic the dark forces really are!
Lurch launches on PC (via Steam) on 19-August-2024.
