It was announced in last night’s Nintendo Direct, that Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic will be releasing for the Nintendo Switch and be published by Aspyr. Unfortunately, it’s not the remake version which has been confirmed for the PlayStation 5 and PC, but a remaster of the original 2003 game. If it makes it any easier, it’s coming out very soon.

Releasing on 11th November, the classic RPG is set four thousand years before the Galactic Empire, where hundreds of Jedi Knights have fallen in battle against the ruthless Sith. The sprawling story allows you to explore both Light and Dark sides of the Force before making your choice whether to save or destroy the Jedi Order. As you progess you can unlock 40 abilities as well as wielding a lightsabre. Eight enormous and iconic Star Wars locations, including Tatooine and Kashyyyk are all in the game, giving serious fan service to the diehards of the series.

The original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was developed by BioWare for the original Xbox in 2003. The Switch version gives a little spit and polish to the proceedings but keeps things preserved as they were. It’s certainly a lovely stop-gap while we wait for the remake, and being able to take the adventure on the go is something that was unimaginable at the start of the millennium.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic releases on Nintendo Switch on 11th November for the bargain cost of £11.29.
