Arcade Shooter Pocky & Rocky Are Back In A New Title

Taito’s 1980s arcade shooter Pocky & Rocky are coming back thanks to the teams at ININ games and Natsume with Pocky & Rocky Reshrined. This will be available on the Switch and PS4 later in the year.

Pocky & Rocky Reshrined is keeping the same vibe as both the 1986 original and the SNES sequel, with 16-bit graphics and a 90s anime aesthetic. Modern touches such as online leader boards will also be available.

The shooter, based on the mythology of ancient Japan will be a single player experience, while a second player can join in under free mode. If a second player does join me, when I get my hands on this game, they’ll be able to pick anyone but Rocky, that raccoon fella is my main.

There will also be a physical edition of the game which will be offered through ININ Game’s retail partner – Strictly Limited Games. More info on what it’ll contain will be made available at a later date. For now, check out the screenshots below.

Pocky & Rocky Reshrined will be available on the Nintendo Switch and PS4 at some point in 2022.
