Atlus Releases New Story Trailer For Shin Megami Tensei V
Atlus have released the story trailer for the Nintendo Switch exclusive RPG, Shin Megami Tensei V, ahead of it’s launch in November. It shows how the world is surviving against the conflict between gods and demons and gives us a glimpse of some more gameplay footage. Let’s take a look.
After Tokyo was devastated by demons, a faction of survivors known as ‘Bethel’ set about trying to protect what’s left of the city and to save people from having their souls eaten. Progressing through the game allows you to make a choice; to follow the light and save the world or to delve into darkness and let chaos prevail.
As you make your way through the wasteland, you’ll encounter demons to battle in a typical J-RPG style and you’ll have a choice to battle them, or recruit them into your party through tough negotiations. Getting demons into the party is useful. By using their powers to you can enhance your own powers, or just use them as fodder for the tougher battles.
Shin Megami Tensei V might be the fifth entry in the series (and that’s before we include the spin off Persona series), but Atlus are keen for players to know you don’t need to have played any other games in the series to fall in love with the latest entry.
Along with the trailer, we’ve also got our first look at the Steel Book edition of the game. We must say it’s looking rather lovely, although has come from Atlus USA, so we’re waiting to hear from Sega if this will be available in Europe when Shin Megami Tensei V releases on 12th November.
While we wait for the game to launch on Nintendo Switch, check out the newest images below.
