Bethesda Delays Starfield & Redfall Into 2023
In a post to their social media accounts, Bethesda have announced that both Redfall and Starfield have been delayed into 2023.
The decision to delay both games to the first part of 2023 is to give the developers more time on creating polished and fully functioning versions of the Xbox Exclusives.
Starfield is set to be Bethesda’s most ambitious RPG since Skyrim and many Xbox fans were excited that they would be getting an exclusive Space RPG in November. While a delay is certainly disappointing, I’d guess that most fans would be happy that the game is being optimised and all possible kinks are being ironed out before it’s unleashed to the world.
Meanwhile Redfall is a new vampire centric IP from Arkane Studios, the team who developed the Dishonored series and last year’s PS5 timed exclusive Deathloop. It was scheduled to be released in just a few months, so a delay into next year could be seen as more concerning as to what state the game is currently in.

It’s disappointing that both games have slipped into 2023 but Bethesda and Microsoft are still planning to release various showcases of the games in the coming months so expect to hear more on that during their joint conference in June.
Once release dates are settled we’ll let you know but for now Redfall and Starfield are scheduled to release exclusively on Xbox Series X|S in 2023.
