Check Out 20 Minutes Of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands
2K games and Gearbox Software are revving up to the release of Borderlands spin-off, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands at the end of the month and have released a wealth of information regarding the Tabletop RPG looter-shooter, along with a 20 minute video showing off all the action.
The first person RPG-shooter has a host of different aspects as you play in Tina’s crazy world. Customisable characters with different character classes are utilised for the first time in the series and we’ll finally be able to mix and match skills by earning hero points, which is handy since the insane teenager can change the rules, and the lands on a whim.
The new gameplay walkthrough features two Fatemakers teaming up for some co-op heroics beneath the treacherous peaks of Mount Craw, an area that can be found off the beaten track, which holds a lot of fun things to discover. Rather than me describe it for you, here’s the gameplay footage from 2K direct that shows off the gorgeous visuals and frenetic action:
It’s also been revealed that when the main campaign is done and dusted, the Chaos Chamber will open up. This is an endlessly replayable experience featuring an ever-shifting portal into a randomised dungeon, full of unique variables, killer enemies, and methods to make your run more or less challenging. Quite why you’d want to make the game easier after you’ve beaten it, is beyond me but it’s still nice to have the option!
A Chaos Chamber run consists of three randomised dungeon rooms, a mini-boss fight, three more dungeon rooms, and a main boss fight, so the gameplay may become predictable, but after each room, you get to choose one of two portals to determine what awaits in the next and keep the action fresh.
While making your run for the stash at the end of the chamber 2K have revealed that you can also collect the following to change the flow of battle:
Crystals: During the Chaos Chamber run, players can collect and utilize Crystals to earn more rewards. Players can amass Crystals by smashing a crystalline, rainbow-glowing die that spawns after completing a room, and by completing optional side objectives that are randomly assigned to each room;
Blessings: By collecting enough Crystals to activate an altar, players can receive Blessings, ranging from increased critical damage or ammo capacity, to melee attack and movement speed buffs, and more;
Curses: The polar opposite of Blessings, Curses are debuffs that last the rest of the run and can make it that much harder for players to survive—but with higher risk comes better rewards.
