Crysis 4 Has Been Announced
After spending much of last year re-releasing the Crysis Trilogy for consoles, Crytek have announced that Crysis 4 is in the works. It is in the very early stages of development but after a few leaks, the team decided to release a short teaser as well as a statement from CEO Avni Yerli. And here I was thinking this was the end of the “Can it run Crysis” meme
From a statement posted on the Crytek website:
We are so pleased and excited to bring this news to you, and we really can’t wait to reveal more details about what lies ahead.
Right now the game is in the early stages of development so it will be a while yet, but we wanted to bring you the news at this time as we are so hyped for the future, and to let you know that we will be listening to our community.
Crytek has a proud history of working with our community to develop the games you want to play. Crysis is incredibly important to so many people – it’s beloved by gamers everywhere, and some of those working in the industry today are doing so because of the original game – so we want to make sure the next instalment in the franchise lives up to all of your expectations. Make sure to join our socials and get involved!
CEO Avni Yerli
The statement goes on to explain that the team are hiring for people to aid in development, suggesting we won’t be seeing anything on the game any time soon.
The teaser, embedded below, shows nanotech flowing around and creating the number 4. Based of this and the above statement, Crysis 4 is a long, long way from release. We’ll keep our eyes peeled on how this first person shooter develops.
