After what could only be described as a botched launch, CD Projekt Red’s dystopian RPG Cyberpunk 2077 has been relaunched on the PlayStation Store. The game, which currently costs £39.99, originally launched back in December after suffering numerous delays.

With the developers at CD Projekt Red have been busy implementing a number of fixes, including an update in April that included a set of patch notes containing over 8000 words, which seemed to have got the game running in such a state that Sony feels the game can now be sold on their store but with one caveat.

Sony have placed on Cyberpunk 2077 – that they strongly suggest that the PlayStation 4 game isn’t played on a PS4 and that a PS4 Pro or PS5 is used instead. On the product listing there is a warning before you get into any of the game’s specific details:

MPORTANT NOTICE: Users continue to experience performance issues with this game. Purchase for use on PS4 systems is not recommended. For the best Cyberpunk experience on PlayStation, play on PS4 Pro and PS5 systems.

It’s fair to say that even suffering numerous delays, Cyberpunk 2077 was originally scheduled for an April 2020 release, the game still released too early and with this warning advising players not to play on the older consoles, there is still a long road ahead for Cyberpunk 2077.

On the Xbox side of things, the game is still missing from the storefront. Presumably, Microsoft wants the game fully playable across all Xbox One models before re-releasing the game.
