Disgaea 7 Vows of the Virtueless is the latest entry into NIS’s long running Strategy-RPG and is set to release in October. The game is a standalone title set in the depths of hell and on the build up to the game’s release, NIS have given us a look at what sets the SRPG apart from previous entries and how the use of D.I will help everyone progress.

The latest update comes in the form of a tutorial video explaining that Disgaea 7 isn’t as much of a grind as you think it is. The Zombie Maiden is shown that auto battles are returning and can be employed to grind through previously cleared levels to boost the character stats. While this can be limited, the game also comes with a “Demonic Intelligence” menu that lets you set what you want each character to do when the game is left to it’s own devices.

Disgaea 7 is set in the demonic realm of Hinomoto, a place that is changing and the days of noble warriors are numbered. Caught up in the commotion, the lazy samurai Fuji and bushido fangirl Pirilika find unlikely allies in each other as they fight against a tyrannical regime while discovering the meaning of honour and redemption.

Like previous Disgaea entries, Vows of the Virtueless is all about producing those big numbers to satisfy the die hard S-RPG fans. The roster of characters is set to be upwards of 40 combatants, and each of them can be levelled to 9,999. With such power, comes a ridiculous amount of damage that requires the use of *to the power of.

Disgaea 7 Vows of the Virtueless is heading to PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Switch on 6 October 2023.
