Donkey Kong Bananza Coming to Switch 2 in July

Donkey Kong Bananza is a brand new 3D Donkey Kong game that’s due for release in July 2025, exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2. The game once again sees DK rampage through 3D environments for the first time since DK64 hit the N64 in 1999.

Nintendo was coy about delving into the ins and outs of Donkey Kong Bananza, although it did confirm it is due out on 17th July 2025. What was shown, however, was that Donkey Kong can use his strength to literally tear up the environments as he hunts down gems. This will open up different paths ready for exploration.

Players can see that this is the newly redesigned Donkey Kong, which looks more like the model used in the recent Super Mario Bros Movie. No other Kongs were spotted during the Nintendo Direct, although with the release date set for July, we would bet our last banana that we’ll hear more about the game leading up to its launch.
