Epic Mickey 2 is a go!
The follow up of the 2010 smash hit Wii title: Epic Mickey has been given the green light for a sequel. Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two sees Mickey’s return to the wasteland, this time with a new partner: Oswald the Rabbit as they explore new areas. The game is being developed primarily for the Nintendo Wii, however HD ports to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will also be released to increase the amount of exposure for the game.
Epic Mickey 2 will feature drop in-drop out multiplayer, taking control of Oswald who is always present to help Mickey on his adventure. His appearance is due to Disney re-acquiring the rights to the rabbit from Paramount. His is in fact the inspiration for Mickey himself.
The game will also have original songs composed and written by Jim Dooley and Mike Himelstein, who are scroing the new animated Dorothy of Oz film. Yes, that’s right. Epic Mickey 2 will have Disney stamped even more over it with it being a musical game!
Game director, Mark Warren, also wants to introduce Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 gamers to the original before Epic Mickey 2‘s release so that they can familiarise themselves with the story and Mickey himself. There is no official word on if this will happen though.
Epic Mickey 2:The Power of Two is due for a release this year on Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
