FAR: Changing Tides Releases New Trailer And Soundtrack Videos
FAR Changing Tides is coming to consoles and PC in March and to amp up the hype, and publisher Frontier Developments have released a new trailer showing off the post apocalyptic water world, along with two soundtrack videos aimed to give viewers a sense of what awaits them.
Developers Okomotive have shown another look at FAR: Changing Tides, and announced it will release on 1st March and that pre-orders for this 2.5D puzzle game are now live. The sequel to FAR: Lone Sails is set in a world that’s been devastated and flooded and the aim is to explore in the submarine, solve puzzles and gain resources for survival.
Playing as Toe, who finds themselves alone, stranded in a flooded world. What once was home is transformed into an unfamiliar and sometimes hostile environment. Toe sets off on an emotional adventure to traverse the ruins of a once great society in search of a new beginning.
The story is separate to the first game and can be played without prior knowledge of the series so far. To showcase what FAR: Changing Tides has to offer, two new lo-fi soundtrack videos the devs are calling Soundwaves, have been created using in-game visuals. According to Okomotive;
These meditative videos invite listeners to lose themselves in the world, from the gentle lapping of the waves to the rhythmic thump of the mighty engine that powers the ramshackle vehicle across a flooded world.
At just over an hour runtime each, it’s certainly going to make the wait for this beautiful looking game easier. Here’s the first “Soundwaves – Above” for your audible pleasure.
FAR: Changing Tides will be available 1st March on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PS4 & Xbox One for £15.99/$17.99. Currently there are various discounts for pre-ordering that vary by platform.
