Gamescom 2021 Indie Booth Presents: Eastward
Eastward has been on the radar for many, and was even showcased in the recent Nintendo Indie World Presentation where it was given a release date of 16th September. We thought we’d take the opportunity to showcase the game and let you know why we’re excited for this top-down RPG.
Created by Pixpil Games and published by Chucklefish, Eastward is a vast adventure game inspired by the Japanese anime of the 1990s. The world has started to crumble and the story follows a hardworking digger called John who has been tasked with guiding a mysterious girl named Sam through dangerous cities full of monsters.
This is a single player adventure game where both John and Sam can be controlled to solve puzzles and meet a cast of strange characters throughout this strange world. The developers wanted to pay homage to the top-down genre and have used The Legend of Zelda and Mother series as inspiration and we think it’s shaping up rather well.
Eastward will be available on PC and Nintendo Switch from 16th September. Make sure you add them to your Steam Wishlist here or Nintendo Wishlist here.
