Gotham Knights Gets First Story Trailer

As part of DC’s Fandome 2021 event, Warner Bros Montreal took to the stage to present a deeper look at their up and coming RPG Gotham Knights. The story trailer’s name gives away which of the Bat-verse baddies we’ll be facing when the game releases next year… Enter: The Court of Owls.

Due out in 2022 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC & last gen consoles, Gotham Knights is set in a post-Batman Gotham City. You play as the Bat-Family which consists of: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood as they set to understand and investigate the deaths of both Batman and Jim Gordon.

The game introduces the Court of Owls, a secret society made up of Gotham’s wealthiest families who are finally stepping out of the shadows to seize power and cause havoc for the new guard of Gotham. As the Talons start taking over the city, it’s up to the Bat-Family to put aside any differences to take on such a horde. Along for the ride is long time adversary of Batman, The Penguin. Cobblepot obviously knows more than he’s letting on in the trailer so we’re expecting him to play a big part in the story.

For those who are familiar with The Court of Owls storyline in the comics, will be happy to hear that both creators Scott Snyder & Greg Capullo are happy to see the lore of their creations expanded and explored in Gotham Knights. While it’s by no means a sign that the game will be good, but by focusing on the story and involving the original talent, the game stands a good chance of satisfying fans of these mysterious enemies.

Gotham Knights is a third person RPG which is due out at some point in 2022. We’ll undoubtedly get a nice look at gameplay down the line but for now, we have to do with the below screenshots.
