GTA VI Targeting A Fall 2025 Release
Grand Theft Auto VI is targeting a “Fall 2025” release according to Rockstar Games. Since it was announced last year, GTA VI is already one of the most anticipated sequels for the current console generation. It is the first entry in the long-running franchise since 2013 and has already smashed records, with the announcement trailer becoming the most-viewed YouTube video game trailer.
The news of GTA VI’s fall 2025 release window comes off the back of Take-Two’s latest earnings call. CEO Strauss Zelnick took to the call to reassure investors that the game is on track despite large losses and the rumblings of a potential delay to the marquee title.
Take-Two Interactive ended the financial year in March 2024 with a $2.9 billion loss. This was attributed to the various acquisition of Gearbox Software and the costly restructuring of studios like Zynga. Despite the large losses, Take-Two expects to return to profits in the coming years due to significant restructuring and studio streamlining.
Even with these plans, the company has a lot riding on the success of Grand Theft Auto VI. This is perhaps for good reason as GTA V has crossed 200 million sales, cementing itself as one of the best-selling games.
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for a release in 2025 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
