Life Is Strange True Colors Gets December Release On Switch
Square Enix have announced that Deck Nine Games‘ latest entry to the Life is Strange series is being released for the Nintendo Switch on 7th December. Along with confirmation of Life Is Strange: True Colors‘ launch, we have a glut of new screenshots showing off how good the portable version is looking.
Life Is Strange: True Colors follows the success of the previous two games which were remastered and added to Nintendo’s handheld earlier in the year. It will initially release digitally on the Nintendo e-Shop in December with a physical release on 22nd February.
The game revolves around Alex Chen who after the sudden death of her brother, must embrace her volatile psychic power of Empathy to uncover the secrets that keep the truth at bay. Alex’s journey, power and future are all fully under the player’s control.
The Switch version had to be built from the ground up due to the lack of horsepower within the console, but work includes, remodelled characters, tweaked environments and a complete rebuild of the lighting mechanics. Thankfully, judging by the screenshots that have been released, while you can see some obvious downgrades, it all looks like the developers have spent their time well.
The team are undoubtedly excited in bringing Life Is Strange: True Colors to Switch players as Jon Brooke, the Co-Head of Studio at Square Enix External Studios says:
“We’re incredibly excited to finally offer a Life is Strange experience on the Nintendo Switch, enabling players to enjoy Life is Strange: True Colors at home or on the go…” “This is the most advanced game in the series, so it was important for us to maintain a high standard of visual quality, performance and optimisation when bringing the game to a new platform. We’re delighted with how the Switch version turned out and we can’t wait to expand our wonderful community of players even more with this release.”
