Little Goody Two Shoes, A Fairytale Horror From The Square Enix Collective Gets A Release Date
The Square Enix Collective, the indie-publishing arm of the Final Fantasy developers, has announced that the fairytale-inspired Little Goody Two Shoes will be released in October on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5.
Developed by Portuguese indie team, AstralShift, Little Goody Two Shoes is a PS2-inspired anime RPG that tells the story of Elise, an ambitious lass determined to become rich and escape her humble life in Kieferberg Village. As her quest for a better life begins, mysterious beings have other ideas for Elise. The game features beautifully created anime-style cutscenes and blends them with a top-down, pixelated overworld and is scheduled to arrive on 31 October.
The narrative-focused horror adventure game utilises multiple story routes to provide 10 different endings to uncover. During the day, players need to strengthen Elise’s bonds with her fellow villagers and work to make a living by playing fun minigames as these will provide invaluable when it comes to the endgame. During the evening, a different story unfolds as Elise encounters deadly foes as she makes her way further into the Woods in search of the perfect life.
From the look of the trailer (embedded above), Little Goody Two Shoes looks set to subvert the traditional European fairytales, and coupled with the gorgeous hand-drawn visuals, we can’t wait to see how this RPG plays out.
Little Goody Two Shoes will be released on 31 October on PC, PS5, Switch and Xbox Series X|S for £14.99 / $19.99 / €19.99.
