Microsoft Shares Their Gamescom 2021 Plans
Gamescom 2021 is again an all digital affair this year, but that’s not stopping Microsoft and the Xbox team making an appearance this year, in a typically big way. Not only will there be a keynote event detailing the rest of the year’s line up, there’ll also be various hands on presentations and offers throughout the week. There’s also a mysterious plug for the convention’s opening night showcase.
Starting the night before gamescom officially kicks off, Microsoft will be holding the ‘official gamescom 2021 Xbox Stream’. Going live across the usual platforms such as Twitch and YouTube on 24th August, the presentation which is hosted by Parris Lilly and Kate Yeager will feature in-depth updates from Xbox Game Studios and third-parties about games releasing at the back end of the year. We’d expect a lot of Halo action and a big push towards Xbox Game Pass. The presentation will take place on 24th August at 18.00 BST / 19.00 CEST.
The following night, gamescom’s opening night live will take place and Microsoft have hinted that it is a show that’s not to be missed. Again, this’ll be broadcast across all the usual streaming places on 25th August at 19.00 BST / 20.00 CEST.
Throughout the week, Bethesda Germany will be hosting a live stream of their up and coming titles, while this’ll primarily be focused on Team Green, we wouldn’t rule out seeing some action from the Sony exclusive Deathloop.
Finally, as is becoming tradition, Microsoft will have a sale of up to 75% on the Xbox store during gamescom. We’ll have a look at the best offerings across the Xbox and Windows 10 stores when the sale goes live.
It’s looking like Microsoft are again pulling out all of the stops when it comes to getting the Series X|S into the minds of the gamers. Gamescom 2021 might be all digital again this year but it’ll be exciting to follow and you know we’ll be watching.
