Neon White Brings Heavenly Demon Slaying To Nintendo Switch And PC
Neon White was one of the more interesting looking games of the Nintendo Direct. A stylistic, first-person shooter has players hunting demons in heaven. As it is being published by Annapurna Interactive, you already know this isn’t going to be your standard shooter.
Players take the role of Neon White, an assassin residing in Hell. He’s been selected by the powers that be to help clear Heaven from a horde of demons that have taken over. He has to compete against a team of other like-minded creatures in order to claim redemption.
From the trailer, you can see Neon White is a face paced, first person run and gun game with a twist. Your weapons take the form of soul cards. When they are selected, they can be used to destroy the enemies.
However, these cards serve another purpose – discarding them will enable you to carry out specific movement abilities, such as jumping. This adds a layer of strategy to the game as you’ll have to manage your deck carefully in order to make progress.
While cleaning up heaven is the aim, you’ll also be tasked with doing it as fast as possible so linking together movement combos will be essential to succeed in the game.
Annapurna is one of the most critically acclaimed publishers of the moment. They pick great developers to work with such as the creator of Neon White – Ben Esposito who is also responsible for the incredible Donut County. Needless to say, we’re excited to see how Neon White turns out
Neon White doesn’t have a firm release date but is scheduled to appear on Nintendo Switch and PC at some point in 2021.
