New AEW Fight Forever Trailer Showcases Ladder Matches
THQ Nordic and developer YUKES have released a new trailer for AEW Fight Forever featuring Darby Allin and Sammy Guevara as they ascend ladders to show off the wrestling games’ latest mode. The first game from the ever-expanding professional wrestling company is due out on all platforms in the coming weeks.
AEW: Fight Forever is due out on 29 June 2023 across PlayStation, Switch and Xbox consoles as well as PC. It is set to take a retro approach to its design, with YUKES being one of the original developers of the early 3D brawlers. All this is to give players a nostalgic arcade feel when playing and in the latest trailer we get a look at two of AEW’s most popular wrestlers battling it out in the infamous ladder match.
As seen, ladders can be used as both weapons as well as to give players extra height to pull off their finishing moves. While the game is sticking to classic, arcade fun, modern features are of course being included, online co-op wrestling is bringing Tag-Team matches to the fore and is set to feature sequences of team manoeuvres performed with simple button commands.
The full list of confirmed modes are:
- Single Matches
- Tag-Team
- 3-Way
- 4-Way
- Ladder Matches
- Casino Battle Royale
- Falls Count Anywhere
- Unsanctioned Lights-Out (allows use of weapons)
- Exploding Barbed Wire Death Matches
This is on top of a vast customisation mode which will see players creating their own wrestler and designing everything from their appearance, to move set and even their own unique intro when they set out on their own career to take the top belt.
Preorders for both the standard and Elite editions of AEW Fight Forever are open now and includes a Matt Hardy double pack as a bonus. The Elite Edition also comes with 24 hours early release and the first season pack which features 4 additional minigames and six DLC wrestlers. They are the current Tag-Team champs FTR, Limitless Keith Lee and The Bunny, and finally HOOK and Danhausen.
AEW Fight Forever is due out on 29 June 2023 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
