Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection Coming To Consoles & PC This June
Koei Tecmo have announced a remaster for the rock hard Ninja series; Ninja Gaiden. The Master Collection includes Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge as well as previously released DLC.
Coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC & Nintendo Switch on 10th June, Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection complies the three 3D mainline entries into the long running series. Developed by Team Ninja, and starring Ryu Hayabusa as a deadly ninja, Ninja Gaiden sees you traversing a brutal and bloody world full of chaos.
Renowned for a challenging difficulty and fast-paced action if you’ve not played a Ninja Gaiden game and want something akin to Devil May Cry or Bayonetta to get your teeth into, definitely check out the trailer below
The history of the games chosen for this collection is a tad on the convoluted side so here goes:
Ninja Gaiden Sigma originally released in 2007 for the PlayStation 3. It was a HD Remaster from the original Xbox game, and series reboot; Ninja Gaiden. The game was noted for extreme difficulty but gained a lot of praise upon release.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is the 2009 PlayStation 3 follow up to Sigma. Much like it’s predecessor, it is a reworking of Ninja Gaiden 2 which released on the Xbox 360 the year prior.
Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge a Wii U launch title in 2012. You might sense a theme here but this is also a reworking of the third entry into the series, which released earlier in the same year for PS3/Xbox 360. Razor’s Edge was subsequently ported back to those consoles.
It’s safe to say that Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection will have the most complete and concise editions of the modern Ninja Gaiden games. The high speed action, bloodfest has been well received up until now which makes it seem this is a safe bet for Team Ninja. Koei Tecmo have said “most game modes” are included, so we will have to wait to see what has been omitted.
Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection comes to PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One & Nintendo Switch on 10th June. The game will run via backwards compatibility on PS5 & Series X|S.
