Nintendo are back with another Direct presentation which will focus on the games that’ll be releasing on the Nintendo Switch this year. We rounding up the 40 minute presentation with all of the announcements and release dates in one place. We know we’re in for some big hitters – there’s a Metroid game coming in a little over two weeks, but what will the surprises be? Head inside to find out.

As the presentation is not yet over, this page is live and will be updated as it goes.

Here’s the link to the full presentation:

Monster Hunter Rise – Sunbreak

We kick off the Nintendo Direct with a look at Monster Hunter Rise – Sunbreak from Capcom. This is a massive DLC expansion for Monster Hunter Rise which is coming out in Summer of 2022.

Mario Party Superstars

Woody Woods & Yoshi’s Tropical Island, Horror Island boards have been added to the game, along with the previously announced 5 N64 remastered boards. You can also play a minigame only mode 29th October.

Voice of Cards

The Square Enix RPG we reported on a few weeks ago has been confirmed as to coming to the Nintendo Switch. This card based game takes inspiration from table top RPGs and is out on 28th October. A demo is available shortly.

Disco Elysium – Final Cut

The top down RPG has finally been given a digital release of 12th October with a physical version coming in 2022.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Expansion 2

A new trailer showcasing the conclusion of Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity expansion has been shown and features a lot of explosions- More info to follow but will launch at the end of October

Chocobo GP

This is a bit of a surprise as Chocobo from the Final Fantasy series has gotten some cute friends together and will be releasing exclusively on Nintendo Switch next year

Smash Bros Ultimate

Smash Fighter will be revealed on 5th October at 15.00 and will definately be the last update on the game… Probably.

Kirby & The Forgotten Land

This unfortunately slipped out before the presentation but we’re seeing a brand new 3D Kirby, in a post apocalyptic wold. The standard power ups are present and correct, as well as a big mo-hawked gorilla

Animal Crossing New Horizons / Mario Golf

Players rejoice! Brewster is coming to AC New Horizons in November… But a special direct will air next month with all of the details.

Mario Golf will also see some updates with 2 new courses, Ninji & Koopa Trooper. This has less of a wait – the free DLC will be available shortly.

Knights of the Old Republic

The original version of Knights of the Old Republic will release on 11th November. This will give you just enough time to play through the game in time for the remaster, which will presumably miss the Nintendo hybrid.

Dying Light 2

Along with the digital release of Dying Light, Techland’s sequel will see a release on the Switch in Cloud form. It’ll release on 4th February along with a free demo.

Triangle Strategy

Triangle Strategy will release on 4th March. More details on the finer details on what’s changed from the demo will be available shortly. Look out for that on site tomorrow!

Nintendo Switch Online

Yes, we’re skipping Metroid Dread, but that’s because the information we’ve seen has been before and since Nintendo decided to spoil the story, we’re not going into too much detail. That said, we’re getting N64 games added to the Nintendo Switch Online Service. Staf Fox, Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time. As a surprise, Mega Drive games will also be added. Unfortunately, Nintendo 64 and Mega Drive games will be an “Expansion” to the service which means it’ll be at an additional cost. Pricing will be announced closer to the date.

Wireless N64 and Mega Drive controllers will also be available for £34.99 each

The Animated Mario Bros Movie

The Mario Bros 21st Decmever 2022 in the states. Mario will be voiced by Chris Pratt of Star Lord fame, Luigi is Charlie Day, Peach is played by Anya Taylor-Joy and Jack Black voices Bowser. Donkey Kong will also make an appearance and be voiced by Seth Rogan, with Cranky Kong also popping up, in hopefully, one heck of a sarcastic mood.

The current voice of Mario, Charles Martinet, has a cameo role of some description, but looks like he;s been has been sidelined in favour of a Hollywood takeover.

Splatoon 3

A new trailer has debuted for Splatoon 3. Much of the action looks familiar with teams battling against each other, albeit with new threads and weapons. In a brief story teaser, we can see that time the Octolings have grown fuzz. Callie, Marie, Peal, Marina, Capt’n Cuttlefish and the Judds are all returning. “Mammalians” – a form of hairy humanoids will also be making thier debut in some form. No release date was given.

Bayonetta 3

Bayonetta 3 is real and we have our first look at the game that was teased so long ago. The Umbra Witch is back with bigger monsters, more epic cut scenes and a lot more sass. It has a release date of sometime in 2022. More information will be coming.
