No Metal Gear Rising Revengeance on Xbox 360 in Japan

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance has been cancelled for the Xbox 360. Well in Japan at least. The European launch for both Microsoft’s console and the PlayStation 3 is still on course Konami assure us. There are various reasons that this could have happened and Konami have not disclosed them to us but the one that sticks out is that despite the worldwide success of Xbox, it is struggling in Japan.

In a world where Sony and Nintendo push forward the local brand, an American brand such as Microsoft is unable to gain a foothold. This would be the likely cause of the cancellation. However where the cancellation is happening in Japan, Europe however is a different kettle of fish. Metal Gear Rising Revengeance is still on course for a 21st February release on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
