What seems like a no-brainer, PopCap Vancouver and EA are brining Plants Vs Zombies: Battle For Neighborville Complete Edition to the Nintendo Switch on 19th March. The game will feature all previous content from the PlayStation & Xbox releases as well as “post launch content”.

Plants vs. Zombies: Battle For Neighborville Complete Edition, you play as either plants or zombies in an arena battler with the aim of destroying your opponents.

Players can play offline, and have a party of up to three friends or dive into some 8v8 multiplayer battles online and the team have incorporated motion controls for the Joy Con to help with aiming. The Standard button control is also available.

The game has 23 fully customisable characters and includes a Team Play class for each faction. As this is the complete edition, all cosmetic items ever released will be available as in-game unlockables. No microtransactions with Plants vs. Zombies: Battle For Neighborville!

Melvin Teo, Producer at PopCap Vancouver had this to say about the Switch release:

We are excited to bring everyone’s favorite Plants vs. Zombies characters to Nintendo Switch for the first time, giving players the ability to play in their homes or on the go, however they choose. The Switch’s motion controls allow us to try a fresh new take on Neighborville, and with its docked and portable play, we have the ability to bring the game and its characters to life in ways that weren’t possible before.

It’s great that EA are finally showing the Nintendo Switch some love. Plants vs Zombies is a great strategy game and with 8v8 online play, it is one of those party games that will stick in the party game scene for a while.
