You Tube working on Next-Gen Consoles

The new TV experience for next-generation consoles could come from YouTube.

On the Google Jobs site, the company has written a job lisiting for a Game Console Software Engineer to develop “versions of YouTube to work with next generation game consoles.”

The engineer will work on “building the next generation game-console-based TV experience with YouTube video content” and “integrate and optimize with distribution channels and devices including all major game platforms.”

Candidates have been asked for a “deep technical knowledge of Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3 and/or Nintendo Wii.”

Although YouTube is already on Xbox 360, this listing looks like it could be expanding to PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii-U.
