Sony PlayStation State Of Play – 27 October 2021

Sony have today released their latest State Of Play video, taking a look at what we can expect to be playing across both PlayStation 5 and PS4 consoles over the next few months. This twenty minute look primarily focused on the third party support Sony. Let’s take a look at how it all unfolded.

Deathverse: Let it Die

Kicking off the show we had a new trailer for Deathverse: Let it Die, which is a third person battle royale style game that’s presented as a TV show. Think Godfall meets Fall Guys and you get the idea. As well as pummelling enemies into the ground, you can craft your own weapons and items. It’s being released across PS5 & PS4 next year.

We are OFK

From Team OFK comes We Are OFK an animated adventure about the indie band OFK. It’s an episodic adventure about how this band is trying to make it in LA as they face troubles such as creative clashes, imposter syndrome and . Across five episodes, you make decisions and act upon situations thrown at you, with the climax of each episode unlocking a music video surrounding the band’s music.

Bugsnax: The Isle of Bigsnax

Bugsnax is getting DLC in the form of The Isle of Bigsnax which includes prehistoric pasta crabs, and snax with hats! Along with the new expedition, the huts will finally be finished.The DLC is coming in 2022 and is a free update.

Five Nights At Freddy’s Security Breach

Five Nights At Freddy’s Security Breach gets a new trailer showcasing the horrors you’ll be encountering. In this version, you’ll be able to get into Freddy himselveto evade capture. It’s a shame his battery won’t last until daylight, so you’ll also have to rely on your wits and knowledge of security cameras in order to make it through the night. Five Nights At Freddy’s Security Breach is coming out on 16th December across both PS4 & PS5 consoles.

Death’s Door

Death’s Door is an isometric dungeon crawler from Devolver Digital, where you play as a bird with a sword. The crow is tasked with tracking down a soul thief who has pinched one of the souls under the bird’s watch. Travelling to a world full of titans and creatures that should of expired a long time ago, the Crow embarks on an adventure that utilises all of their skills and mystical abilities. Death’s Door will release 23rd November on, you guessed it, both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles.

KartRider: Drift

KartRider: Drift is the next entry to the cute racer series and is coming out next year. Chibi characters participate in over thirty courses, while throwing weapons at each other in order to get to the top of the podium. An open beta is coming on 8th December with two modes available; Item mode & Speed mode. The first allows racers to compete in your traditional kart racer, by lobbing items at each other where as Speed mode forces players to use their racing talents and drifting abilities in order to win. KartRider: Drift will release on PlayStation 4 in 2022 as a free to play title.

King of Fighters XV

New comer Dolores joins the expanding roster of King of Fighters XV. She’s a mysterious medium who has the power to control Holy Earth. As an additional surprise, an open beta test for PS5 & PS4 players was also announced. Kicking off from the 19th November and runs to 22nd November and will involve a number of different modes, both online and offline as well as the eight announced fighters being available. It’ll also have cross-generation matchmaking included from the outset. King of Fighters XV is currently scheduled to launch on 17th February.

First Class Trouble

First Class Trouble is a third person game where people collaborate to complete tasks, expect one resident is a Personoid – a robot disguised as a person who’s primary job is to sabotage players and make sure they don’t complete their tasks. First Class Trouble is coming to both PlayStation 5 & PS4 on 2nd November and will form one of the PS Plus games for November.

Star Ocean: The Divine Force

Next up we had Star Ocean: The Divine Force, an action RPG from Square Enix, that looks to celebrate the series’ 25th anniversary. This latest entry has robots, dragons and a beautiful planet which is in danger. We’re not 100% on what’s going on with the trailer, but it looks like an expansive adventure to say the least. The ‘Double hero’ mechanic, which allows players to make decisions based on the experiences of whichever protagonist was chosen, will guide the expansive story based in both science fiction or fantasy backgrounds. It’s out in 2022 for both PS5 and PS4 players.

Little Devil Inside

Little Devil Inside was billed as one of highlights of the State Of Play. It’s unique style, with the over world having the a look of a home made table top village, while the gameplay looks more like a 3D claymation style adventure game, we follow Billy as he is pulled into a world that gets stranger and stranger the more missions he is given to do. It’s coming at some point in 2022.
