The Caligula Effect: Overdose Edition Coming To PS5
NIS America has announced that a port of the PS4 title The Caligula Effect: Overdose will be crossing over to PlayStation 5 this year. The J-RPG was originally released on the Vita before being remade for the PS4 and Switch back in 2018.
The Caligula Effect is the brainchild of Tadashi Satomi, who served as a scenario writer for the first two Persona games and has you taking control of members of the Go-Home Club as they fight against Mobius, a virtual reality simulator governed by the virtual idol μ, in an effort to get back to the real world.
The dungeon crawling RPG features a plethora of characters within the Go Home Club to grow with and features a number of different endings for players to seek out. To help with your quest, you’ll be able to utilise stigmas to augment your abilities in battle and interact with over 500 students in the virtual world to befriend and strengthen your skill pool as you seek to take out μ and all of her followers.
As always with NIS America titles, The Caligula Effect: Overdose will get it’s own physical edition that will will be available to pre-order through the official NIS UK&EU Online Store from 3rd March. A full release date hasn’t been pinned down but we’ll certainly let you know when it goes live.
The Caligula Effect: Overdose will release on PlayStation 5 in 2023.
