The Callisto Protocol Announced, Coming December
The Callisto Protocol is a new space horror game coming from developers Striking Distance Studios and the publisher behind PUBG, Krafton Inc. Annonunced during Sony’s State of Play, the game gives off some serious Dead Space vibes and it’s coming this year.
Set on Jupiter’s dead moon Callisto in the year 2320, The Callisto Protocol challenges players to escape the maximum security Black Iron Prison and uncover the terrifying secrets of the United Jupiter Company. Players will need to search their surroundings and be cautious of nasties that are crawling around area. When the game isn’t busy building a terrifying atmosphere, combat takes place in close-quarters, with a dim light in order to ramp up the tension.
The trailer shows all kinds of mutated nasties that are stalking the hallways and it looks as if our protagonist is in for one hell of a ride as he investigates what exactly went wrong in the space prison.
The Callisto Protocol is penned as a survival horror that fuses brutal combat with a deeply human story in a terrifying sci-fi world. It’ll be launching on 2nd December across current & last gen PlayStation and Xbox consoles and PC. Comparisons to Dead Space is inevitable due to the creator, Glen Schofield, also being partly responsible for creating the game during his time at Visceral Games.
The Callisto Protocol will come to PlayStation 5, PS4, PC, Xbox SeriesX|S & Xbox One on 2nd December.
