The Cruel King And The Great Hero Announced For Switch & PS4

NIS America have announced a new RPG in the form of The Cruel King And The Great Hero which is coming to the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in 2022. This 2D-side scroller features lovely hand drawn, storybook inspired visuals as well as a heart wrenching story. We’ve got the first trailer below.

Created by Sayaka Oda, director of The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince, The Cruel King And The Great Hero puts you in the place of Yuu, the daughter of a proud warrior who has aspirations to follow in her father’s footsteps. Guiding her along her journey is the Cruel King, a dragon her father defeated in battle before helping him change his ways.

As Yuu grows older, the dragon has to come to terms with his past and confront his and Yuu’s inevitable future as enemies.

We thing the game’s presentation is stunning, although it would have been nice to get an early look at some gameplay, but we are keeping an eye on The Cruel King And The Great Hero as it develops over the next few months. It’ll be available in 2022 on Nintendo Switch & PlayStation 4.
