Worms Rumble Launches On Xbox & Switch Today, Physical Copies Incoming
After being announced in last week’s Nintendo E3 direct, Team 17 have unleashed Worms Rumble across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and the Epic Games Store today along with a free map, cross-play matchmaking as well as some paid DLC and a physical edition coming in July. It’s quite the crateful of information.
After releasing on PlayStation and Steam back in November, Worms Rumble is now available on all of the major platforms. For Xbox players, this can be purchased through the store or downloaded as part of Game Pass. A physical copy of Worms Rumble is also coming, which is due to be released on 13th July. This will be for Xbox Consoles, PlayStation 4 & PS5. There is a ‘physical’ Nintendo Switch version which is unfortunately a download code in a box.
With the launch of Worms Rumble, Team 17 have also released a new, free, arena to do battle in, the Spaceport Showdown. As it is set in space, the map features randomly generated pockets of zero gravity to slow the action and take your worms higher than they’ve been before.
If that wasn’t enough for everyone, Worms Rumble also has paid DLC tying into the new map. For £3.99 / $4.99 / €4.99 you can download the The Spaceworm and Alien downloadable content pack. This includes three spaceworm outfits (Voyager, Apollo, and Pioneer) and three alien outfits (Grey, Green, and Pink Aliens), the Invasion and Rocket Banners, and two Emotes.
