Xbox Music Announced

Games were not the only order of business at the Microsoft conference at E3 today. Also announced was a Music service for the Xbox, cleverly titled Xbox Music. This service lets you download and share music with your friends through Xbox, but that is not all.

You can also download and stream music through the TV or mobile device such as a table or laptop so your music can be truly mobile. Obvious comparisons to iTunes maybe drawn but unlike Apple’s service, Xbox Music promotes the social aspect of sharing your music with your friends.

Xbox Music will be coming to consoles this year as Microsoft tries to make the console more of a media centre, not just a games console.
